CANNES CROWD GOES WILD FOR HAMAGUCHI RYUSUKE, BUT DIRECTOR AIN'T BUYIN' IT!

The French Riviera is buzzing after Hamaguchi Ryusuke's new flick, "All of a Sudden," scored a standing ovation at Cannes! But don't expect the acclaimed director to be popping champagne just yet. The modest filmmaker isn't exactly swooning over the cheers.

Variety reports that Hamaguchi watched the thunderous applause with a healthy dose of skepticism. He isn't easily swayed by Tinseltown traditions, apparently! "I also know that a standing ovation is kind of a tradition here," he spilled to the magazine, hinting that he knows how these industry shindigs work.

So, while the "All of a Sudden" buzz is real, Hamaguchi is keeping it cool. He's clearly more focused on the art than the accolades, even when the Cannes crowd is on its feet!
