The indie rock scene is buzzing, and for good reason! After a staggering 28-year hiatus, the iconic band the Yummy Fur is officially back in action, dropping a brand new album that nobody saw coming. This isn't just any reunion; it's a momentous occasion for fans who've waited nearly three decades.
Rewind to the nineties, and the Yummy Fur was tearing up the Glasgow indie circuit. They were a fixture, a band that defined an era for many. Then, in 1999, it all came to an abrupt halt. The band called it quits, a decision no doubt impacted by the tragic passing of their keyboardist, Mark Gibbons, that very same year.
But the Yummy Fur's legacy didn't fade away. Far from it. Two of their own, Alex Kapranos and Paul Thomson, went on to achieve massive success, forming the globally acclaimed band Franz Ferdinand. Years later, Franz Ferdinand even brought Yummy Fur's guitarist, Dino Bardot, into their fold. And the connections don't stop there; former Yummy Fur drummer, Lawrence Worthington, lent his talents to other notable bands like Male Nurse and Country Teasers.
